Will going to kuwait with the navy change my boyfriend?

im really worried, he leaves in january. and im afraid things are going to be REALLY different with us... well mainly him after his 5 1\2 months away. he has gone to iraq. but it was before we were together. so is not like its his first time leaving. can someone please help me. what am I to expect? what should I do?
