You could always use some decorative ribbon to keep the plant from having branch/chute issues. Also, what I use for mine, I add 1 teaspoon of epsom salt to the water every two weeks for a fertilizer. Works great. And, don't worry, it is natural for the tips of the leaves to turn a browny-yellow sometimes.
