Will kickboxing help tone my body?

So I was thinking about taking kickboxing with my older sister to help tone our bodies some. I swim about 2,500 yards 3 days a week and eat a healthy diet. I would say that I was in shape, but I want to be better tones. if I start doing kickboxing for a hour 3 times a week, will I get tones by the summer? I really want to look great in that swimsuit! Thanks! :D
