Help with a college personal statement?

First thing, cut out the contractions. Didn't, it's, and I'm are NEVER acceptable in academic writing. You're not writing an email to your mother, you're writing to an admissions board. Second thing, delve deeper. This does highlight a number of times that you were different, but it's shallow. Everyone else's favorite color was blue, but your favorite was purple? Everyone has a favorite color. It's not a struggle. There's no growth, no personality. This is "I don't know what to write about, so I'll make a list of every time I was a little off." DELVE! You're deeper than this, and if you want to write a great personal statement, you'll show that. I'll be honest, I was a lot more intrigued by your trip to West Bank instead of this. It's unique, it's a life experience, and it's a deep moment of growth. What you've written here is just... blah.
