Can anyone tell me why the Winnipeg jets traded Kris Dr for $1 to the Red Wings in 1993?

Possibly because his last name didn't end in "ov" or "in" The Jets were under GM Mike Smith at the time and his of love of Russian players (I'm sure Leaf and Hawk fans will remember this bum) . Dr didnt fit into the teams plans at the time and was sent off to Detroit. Still makes me mad to this day. Prime example of mismanagement of player talent
